Parkside Academy’s Year 7 admissions comply with and are operated by Durham County Council.
We provide up to 180 places to Year 7 pupils each year and operate an open access and fully inclusive admissions policy with pupils from all backgrounds and abilities being welcome.
For entry into Year 7, applications to the Academy will be made through the Local Authority co-ordinated admissions scheme. The Academy will operate the same admissions arrangements and oversubscription criteria as Durham County Council.
As a parent/carer, you will need to complete the Common Application Form (CAF) on line or as hard copy, and submit to the Authority by mid-October in Year 6.
If you are considering Parkside as an option for your child in Year 7 please don’t hesitate to contact us to tour the school on a normal working day.
Admissions at any other time
If your child currently attends secondary school but you wish them to transfer to Parkside Academy, you must contact ‘Pupil Casework’ at County Hall, Durham to obtain a transfer form.
It would be useful if you discussed the reasons for requesting a transfer with the Headteacher or Year Leader of your child’s current school prior to completing the form and returning to County Hall.
